A soft sculpture hand sewn entirely of wool felt, with stitched brass letters reading ALBERTA WHEAT POOL and stuffed with wool roving. It stands approx. 8 1/2 inches tall. The letters were stitched on by hand, not glued, and do move minimally, so you may need to very gently shift them with fingertips if they move in transit.
Two sides of the elevator are a neon coral pink and the other two a darker magenta, to evoke the brighter angles in the sunlight and darker in the shade and to inspire play with natural light in its permanent resting place, as the shades of pink change in different lighting through the day.
Inspired by my childhood memories of grain elevators on drives through Alberta.
